Of all the people to take fashion inspiration from, famous singleton Bridget Jones isn't usually up there with the style greats.But Katy Perry had clearly decided to follow in Bridget's not-so-stylish footsteps yesterday as she stepped out wearing a sheer skirt and a huge pair of knickers which Ms Jones would be proud of.
The 25-year-old singer teamed the knitted skirt with a T-shirt bearing the slogan 'HAPPY' and a pair of biker boots as she left the ITV studios yesterday after filming an interview for Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

It seems Katy was going for practicality above sexiness with the nude-coloured full briefs, which could be seen through a sheer panel of the skirt.

However either the Teenage Dream singer didn't know, or didn't care about her fashion faux pas, as she spent a long time signing autographs and chatting to fans outside the television studios.
But Katy, who is currently getting ready for her wedding to Russell Brand in October, said she doesn't mind so much about her fashion slip-ups, because she knows fiancé Russell Brand will love her no matter what.
She said recently: 'It’s weird, you know, when you fall in love and have someone that really kind of supports you, you stop really worrying about like, all this make-up you have to wear or what everybody thinks about you, because the person that you love, loves you back.'
But Katy did say she sometimes finds it difficult to stay on track.
She added: 'I have my idiotic moments too. I take it one day at a time and I have a really good support system.
'I have a good team. I don’t end up wasted, with my face down in alleyways. I kind of like, steer the ship pretty good so that I don’t hit any icebergs.'

Huge knickers had a comeback after the release of Bridget Jones's Diary in 2001, when Bridget, played by Renée Zellweger, wore them on a date with her boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).
When the couple returned to Bridget's flat after the date and started getting amorous, Daniel realises Bridget is wearing massive knickers instead of a sexy pair.
The underwear, which had been signed by Hugh, was then auctioned off and raised £2,000 for the Royal Parks Foundation.
Meanwhile, Katy, who is tirelessly promoting new album Teenage Dream in London at the moment, could soon be on our television screens as she is in talks about having her own reality show with ITV2.
Zai Bennett, controller of ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4, said: 'Katy Perry is a target for us currently. She's brilliant, a bullseye person. We are talking to her management about various shows.'
